How EDGE3 reads players the model has never seen

Returning college players have prior-year PFF grades. The trajectory model uses the player's prior-year overall grade + scheme context + room dynamics + behavioral signals to predict next-season improvement or decline. That's the model behind the table above. Validated on the 2024 forward holdout — the model never saw 2024 during training; AUC 0.770 on real 2024 outcomes.

HS recruits with no college stats yet use a different read: 247 composite + national rank, HS scheme experience (asked in the survey), position archetype matching against historical comparables, scheme-transition signal scoring how different the HS scheme is from the program's college scheme. Output is a development band, not a single trajectory score.

FCS, JUCO are on the Q3–Q4 2026 roadmap as PFF + CFBD pipelines extend coverage. Today's search is FBS-live; coverage expands as data lands.
